Benitez’s cause of death has still not been confirmed but his passing was announced just a month after he came through medical tests at Qatar side El Jaish.
On Sunday, Benitez played his first game for El Jaish, coming on as a substitute with around 20 minutes to go against Qatar Sports in the Sheik Jassim Cup.
