The 24-year-old married her as-yet-to-be named boyfriend during a traditional ceremony at Mugabe’s rural home in Zvimba on August 4, the NewsDay reported, citing a close family friend.
“All went well and we’re all very excited as a family about this development,” Zanu PF Uzumba MP-elect Simbaneuta Mudarikwa, a close family friend, was quoted as saying.
But Mugabe’s spokesman George Charamba told New Zimbabwe.com he was unaware of the development.
“I’ll have to check and get back to you. It’s my first time hearing about it,” he said.
Mudarikwa declined to name Bona’s husband, according to NewsDay, telling a reporter: “You just wait for the wedding invitation cards which should be sent out before the end of the year.”
It has been claimed that Bona’s husband is a Zimbabwean national working as a pilot for Emirates airline.
